Here is the video in case you missed it. Below we have attached our small group discussion questions as well.

1.     Have everyone take a minute to write down their high and their low this week on a separate sheet of paper, fold it up and put it in a hat or a bowl. Mix them up and have each person draw two out. If they get their own they need to put it back and grab another one.

Take turns reading the highs and trying to guess which person wrote it and if it was a high or a low.

Eg. You draw out one that says, “Ate ten hamburgers.” And one that says, “Did not have soccer practice.” You guess Jimmy the Jackelope did the first and it was his high and the second was Jenny and it was also a high.

The person who actually had the high or low reveals their secret.

The guesser can earn up to 4 starbursts if they guess the person and the high or low correctly for both slips they pull out.

The person whose card is read can earn up to 2 starbursts if the guesser chooses someone else or if they choose the high or low incorrectly.

The wrongly accused gets nothing.

2.     Have you ever prayed that Jesus would strike a bargain with you? Where he does something miraculous and then you would believe in him? What did you ask for? What happened?

Is belief in God something that comes easy for you or hard for you? Why? Is it sometimes one and sometimes the other?

If you have ever experienced something that you would call a miracle, tell the story.

Why do you think our brains may not be well equipped to believe miraculous signs?

3.     Read John 2:23-25

What would happen if you saw something like Jesus turning water into wine? How would you react?

What did the people in this passage do when they saw Jesus perform his signs?

Then why would Eric say that miracles do not result in a lasting faith, based on this passage? Where is that in this section? How do you think he came to that conclusion?

4.     Eric said that you are in a process. That you have to show up before you are curious, be curious and ask questions before you believe, etc. That is what the Christian life is, constantly taking another step towards Jesus.

Where are you at in the process right now?

If you saw Jesus do a miracle do you believe enough to believe it right now? Why or why not?

Eric said, “Don’t wait for a miracle.” What is the next logical step you feel like you need to take towards Jesus?

Is there anything hindering you from taking that step?
