4.21.19- Jesus is Awesome
Use the following thoughts and questions to have a spiritual conversation as a family. Don’t emphasize having the right answer, but focus on spending time discussing the Word as a family.
John 14:1-6
Jesus tells us that he is life. That means that when we follow him we receive life NOW and LATER.
What does it mean to you that Jesus is the life?
When have you experienced a better life because of your commitment to follow Jesus?
How would you summarize the story of the gospel?
Talk about what the gospel means for you personally, then have another family over for dinner for the express purpose of sharing this story with them. Talk about how this idea makes you feel (nervous, excited, etc.) Invite them over and then at some point in the evening, say, "Part of the reason we invited you over is that we would like to tell you something that is really important to us as a family. We are not trying to make you be anything you don't want to be, and no matter what you think of what I am about to say, we will still be friends, but this story has changed our lives and it has the potential to change yours as well so we would be remiss if we did not tell you something this important." And then tell the story. Model this for your student and see if they want to take the challenge next.
