Hey all,
We at bcsm are working on a new thing specifically for the parents within our ministry. You might have heard me talking about the BLOPE (I know it is kind of a stupid name, but it is growing on me and it is memorable) or the bcsm Library Of Parenting Excellence. The idea is to create an online space that will provide practical and spiritual hope and help to achieve harmony in your home.
The BLOPE will be a searchable hub for parents with resources, Parent Hacks, articles, videos, and other helpful items organized by labels. So if you run across a problem and you aren't sure how to solve it, you can quickly look around the BLOPE to see if we have added any content around that topic. If we haven't you can let me know and I will see about adding some stuff on there. If you read an article and you had a question on it, you can post a comment right there. You can subscribe to that blog as well and be alerted every time we add a new article.
This, I hope will become a really helpful tool that you can share with your friends as they are parenting their jr. high and high school students. If you want to check out the BLOPE, just go to www.theblope.com and poke around. We have not officially launched the site or added much in the way of posts, but you, dear reader, get the first look.
All of that means that we are revamping the Parent Connections as well. (There wouldn't be one this week anyway because Jr Highers and High Schoolers will be in the service... but that is beside the point). Now, instead of this blog we are going back to strictly an email subscription. If you are already subscribed to this blog through your email, you have been automatically added to the list for Jr. High Parent Connections which will provide the same things that this blog provided in the past. If your student is in High School, we will be adding a separate list for that group as well. To sign up for those things, just go to the BLOPE and click on the Sign up for Parent Connections tab. Fill out the form and let us know which events your student attends or would like to attend, hit submit and we will add you in. It is as easy as that.
